The claim of any Jewish person anywhere, that Israel is their ancestral home, despite the murky biblical support, (not a legal document), over the actual inhabitants of the region uninterruptedly for more than 2000 years, (and actually supported by genetic analysis), is the con job of the millennium.
There is no doubt over the historicity of Jews being indigenous to the area. It's well document in Roman histories, as well as countless archaeological artifacts of Jewish presence in the area dating back well before Roman times. It's not based on the bible.
Israelis demand that the world honor their beliefs without question, while having no respect whatsoever for the beliefs of anyone else. They truly believe that they are God's chosen people and behave as if that gives them privilege rather than obligation to service.
Israelis demand that the world honor the actions of the UN and the claims of an indigenous people who were expelled by colonizers (here, the Romans) to return to some of the lands to which they are indigenous. It's the same basis for Palestinian claims to the area, and the Jews pre-date the Palestinians. Two indigenous peoples, one land. As with other such situations, there's no way to resolve that situation without trauma - but a two-state solution, as originally proposed by the UN (but rejected by force of arms by Egypt and Jordan), is perhaps the least bad way.
I think you also fundamentally misunderstand the concept of "chosen people" as well - in Jewish thought and religious practice, it is absolutely that the Jews were chosen for an obligation, not a benefit.
