A president who flouts the codes and declares “I am the code.” is the issue.
And though the building will probably be “safe”, it is still the vanity project that nobody asked for, and has become a prime symbol of everything wrong with this president and administration.
Oh, sure. No disagreement with that. Certainly tear down the arch, if it gets built - you can't bestow an honor on yourself, it is no honor, and no loss to remove it.
But....you know. A building codes thread. How could I lay off that? In my line of work?!?
