All the workers have to do is withhold their services. Those who deem them "labor costs" are superfluous to the business and constitute a waste of resources.
Otherwise known as a “strike”.
It may or may not be effective, depending on the ease with which strikers can be replaced by management with “strike breakers”, otherwise known as “scabs”......
Or how easily management can persuade the government to intervene on the basis of “national security”.
One thing is for sure- we are coming off of a multi-decade period in which corporate propaganda successfully turned language on its ear and turned the population, even those who worked as laborers, against organized labor.
But as the depradations become more visible, that is changing.
