Met up with an old friend, we go all the way back to 9 year old Little League
baseball. Went to HS, played on same sports teams, had a good sized crew of
like minded maniacs that all hung out together, on a regular basis.

Lost touch with him, as he went South when the State job market fell apart
during our early adult years. He has spent the last 30 years or so in Florida.

He is a staunch Trump supporter, and I am not, lol.
We discovered that quickly. He asked if I was a Dem ( I didn't need to ask him ), told him I voted Independent, that I voted for a couple of R's on the
2024 ballot, they were the best candidates for the job.

The best part was that it did not matter, 1 bit. Had a great, adventure
packed 2 days. Issues of the current day came up, such as tariffs. He agreed
that prices are definitely going up, I agreed that it is worth a try to rehome
some of the industries that have off-shored. He owns his home outright
in Florida, and because he has no mortgage, he does not have home insurance.
I started to explain the risk of that, and he laughed and said he was fully
aware of the risk. Says there is really not a way that he can afford home
insurance in Florida, and we just left it at that.

It was really good to find out that different political views did not
stop us from getting along just fine, the bonds we had from way back
were stronger than my disdain for Trump and MAGA, and his disdain for Biden and libs.
