Is yet another progressive who either doesn't drive at all; drives minimally and infrequently; and generally is a terrible driver with no real world knowledge of the laws of physics or how vehicles behave.
If a vehicle's front wheels are canted to the left; the driver accelerates forward, and while accelerating forward, the driver cranks the steering wheel to the right, then the way the vehicle actually moves is in a rotational fashion around the axis of the vehicle's turning radius.
The front right side of the vehicle will begin to turn away from a person standing in front of the vehicle. The front left/side of the vehicle will turn INTO a person standing in front of the vehicle.
Depending on exactly where the person is standing, how the driver is driving, handling characteristics of the vehicle, traction of the tires, road surface conditions, and other relevant variables, the left SIDE of the vehicle and the left rear of the vehicle may also be capable of hitting the pedestrian or coming dangerously close.
