This is the first truly exciting Alzheimer's related research that I've seen! And I wonder if this gene is involved in other brain problems as well. I wonder if too active a gene would prevent successful mitophagy and autophagy in the brain. Not being able to get rid of the garbage would become highly inflammatory.
