Mayor Eric Adams announced painful budget cuts to New York City services on Thursday that would freeze police hiring and close libraries on Sunday and warned that more cuts would be necessary without additional federal funding to manage the migrant crisis.

The budget cuts would bring the number of Police Department officers below 30,000, slash the Education Department budget by $1 billion over two years and delay the rollout of composting in the Bronx and Staten Island — one of the mayor’s signature initiatives to address rats and climate change. The cuts would also weaken two popular programs: summer school and universal prekindergarten.

Mr. Adams said in a statement that he had to make cuts across city agencies in response to the rising costs of the migrant crisis, slowing tax revenues and the ending of federal pandemic aid.

Yup. Fewer cops and libraries for New Yorkers.

VERY HAPPY NEWS! Thanks for posting it.

Speaking just for myself.....

I am hoping that one day the cuts hit the affluent white liberal areas hard but of course, this is a Blue City, and Blue is racist - - so that will be a long time before it happens.

But I do, openly, without guilt hope that eventually these budget cuts diminish some aspect of life, and that causes people to go cause trouble in affluent White Liberal parts of NYC.

Yup. Fewer cops and libraries for New Yorkers.
High price to pay for virtue signaling.

New Yorkers can thank their impaired leader Biden for his
youallcome, the borden is open, we’ll take care of you
open border policies. Biden’s a nice guy on someone else’s dime.
After all though, NYC is America’s melting pot.
Winter is coming, New Yorkers should open up their homes and
invite the illegal aliens to spend the winter with them.
Never mind they are unvetted or sick, it’s the liberal
charity thing to do.
