“Gallup: Only 19% Satisfied with Joe Biden’s America
Less than a quarter of Americans are satisfied with President Joe Biden’s America, a Gallup poll found this week.
Biden will depart the White House next month with Americans feeling very pessimistic about the direction of the nation.
Americans voted in November for change, electing President-elect Donald Trump to lead the nation after years of managed decline.
Under Biden’s leadership and his vow to unite the nation, America suffered the deadly Afghanistan withdrawal, soaring inflation, the weaponization of justice, the prosecution of political opponents, and a gridlocked Congress unable to solve the nation’s woes.”

Krugman did an essay on this. It seems that our feelings about how well the economy is doing for the country as a whole and for ourselves individually are skewed by whether our party is in power or not, and especially for MAGAs.

https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/a-win-for-the-v...So get ready to feel very good LM, and you'll attribute all good things to Trump and everything bad to Dems or Biden. We're used to it.

Overall, I satisfied with the job Biden has done. No one will ever do everything I want, so I don't expect that. But he got us a softer landing economically than any other nation, employment has surged (and the unemployment rate is near the lows of 6 years ago), he is helping Ukraine against our old adversary (the Soviet Union...under Putin, that's what it is).
Did he do some dumb stuff? Sure. I'm very disappointed that he pardoned Hunter (abuse of power...plus I don't agree with the pardon power, but that's a separate discussion). He went too far reversing the convict's border policies (though he did finally course-adjust to something more reasonable; still needs an overhaul, though). I approve of the commutation of death penalty cases just on principle**. I won't go too far into the weeds...overall, an above-average job, even if "average" is a pretty low bar.
**My father used to say "better 10 guilty men go free than one innocent person spend a day in jail". He wasn't that eloquent, plus a life-long Republican, so I'm sure he stole that quote from someone. In the case of capital punishment, there are no do-overs, and innocent people do get found guilty (MAGA insists that happened with the convict, ironically). Just in case we were wrong, we have to have a max of life w/o parole.

Less than a quarter of Americans are satisfied with President Joe Biden’s America, a Gallup poll found this week. This statement is utterly false. Did you actually read the Gallup poll that was quoted? Here's what it says:
"About four in 10 Americans
(39%) approve of the job Biden is doing as president."
So Biden's approval rating is almost 40%.
The poll was conducted when Musk and Trump, in their utter stupidity, tried to shut down the government.
When Americans were asked
are you satisfied with the direction of the country, it was the Republicans' incompetency and near government shut down that led to only 19% of Americans answering yes to that particular question.
Don't spread falsehoods, LM.
Here's the Gallup poll in its entirety:

All good, but he really, royally screwed up.
He told us he was the transition president.
When it came to the transition, he couldn't do it.
Or his handlers couldn't do it.
He/they held onto power.
And that's part of why we have another 4 years of Trump.

Sources that are not extreme-right echo chamber describe the recent Gallup poll differently. But then... it's to be expected that Breitbart will spin everything to confirm the bias of it's audience.
Gallup will conduct its final reading of Biden’s job approval in January. For now, it appears he leaves office earning majority-level approval from a handful of U.S. subgroups, including Democrats (85%), political liberals (73%), adults with postgraduate education (55%), people of color (53%) and people with no religious affiliation (51%). Majorities of Republicans, conservatives, White adults and those without a college degree disapprove of his job performance, as do majorities of all age and income groups.
And, in support of that, this from the same poll:
Albeit low, Democrats’ current 23% approval rating of Congress is higher than Republicans’ 10%.

Per your link..
“While on the low side for the 36% to 45% range of approval ratings he’s received since January 2022, Biden’s current reading is similar to his average over that period. He hasn’t had a job approval rating of 50% or better since July 2021.”
Biden’s job approval continued to fall to an all time low during his term as President.
President Biden is the worst president in America’s history.

Myself:
Dissatisfied with war-mongering with a nuclear Russia.
Dissatisfied with some of the pardons/commutations.
Beyond that, some of the WokeAlQaeda stuff he just ain't gonna thwart too much.
After that - I guess I'm one of the 19%'ers.
Mostly good memories of him.
And furthermore it's great to see and know that him and his lovely bride didn't want Harris to win.
Do I agree with them on everything? Nope.
BUT he is an American - and that is a *plus* especially when you see some of the alternatives on the Left.
One day if the "Kamala" AOC types truly reach critical mass, you'll see what I mean.

If you go by approval ratings,
George "Dubya" Bush was the worst president in modern American history (since 1960). During his watch, we had the 9/11 terror attack where 2,977 people died, the 2001 recession, 4,400 Americans dying in the unnecessary war on Iraq, the grossly incompetent response to Hurricane Katrina / New Orleans floods where 1,392 people died, and the Great Recession where over 30 million people lost their jobs and 6 million people lost their homes to foreclosure.
Dubya's approval fell to
22% in 2008, which is about half of what Biden's approval rating is today.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_image_of_Geor...Second worst president in modern American history was Donald Trump, who left office with an approval rating of 34%, which is lower than Biden's current 39% approval rating. 40% of the 471,000 American deaths due to Covid could have been avoided if Trump had handled the crisis better. President Trump publicly dismissed its threat (despite privately acknowledging it), discouraged action as infection spread, and eschewed international cooperation.
https://www.businessinsider.com/analysis-trump-cov...Trump is also the worst jobs president in history with job losses totaling 4 million under his watch.

As usual, Breitbart is lying and LM spreads the lie.
The question wasn't about Biden, it was about the direction of the country. Are you satisfied with the way things are going?
Those who like what Biden and the democrats did over the last 4 years would be inclined to answer that question No. Trump won the Presidency and Republicans took control of the Senate. That is not moving in the right direction. That is not going well.
What I find interesting is that based on the low number of positive responses, Republicans seem to be similarly inclined. They're looking at the recent election and aren't happy with that, either. Are they already suffering buyers' remorse? You would think that after winning all three branches of Federal government, republicans would think things are looking up. But apparently, they don't.
