(2)the alien permanently resided in the United States prior to attaining the age of 16; and
(3)the alien reasonably believed at the time of voting in violation of such subsection that he or she was a citizen of the United States.

There's usually a reasonable person standard and not idiosyncratic beliefs. As you see it requires some objective basis. History shows us we've never had any real problem with illegals voting. Any mistakes have not been outcome determinative.

In fact, under federal law, you could face up to five years in prison simply for registering to vote. It’s also a deportable offense for noncitizens to register or vote. And sure, people make bad decisions and commit crimes all the time. But this one is different: by committing the crime, you create a government record of your having committed it. In fact, it’s the creation of the government record — the registration form or the ballot cast — that is the crime.

And again, there's literally never been more than a handful of illegal voters ever (usually republicans, BTW, who voted for Trump illegally) and republicans, though in control of voting in many states, have never been able to provide a shred of evidence to support this nonsense.

Our oldest son has 3 sons ages 10 through 3. They are smart, funny, and extremely rambunctious. And quite athletic, all due to their marathon-running mother’s genes (certainly didn’t come from our side of the family LOL). High energy would be an understatement.
Our youngest son has an almost 2 year old daughter who is smart, beautiful (again, mom’s genes), a terror in her own right, and has me tightly wrapped around her extremely cute little finger. One smile and I’m handing her all my credit cards. They’re expecting a son later this year.
We never get to see any of them enough.
