Trump, the narcissist believes he is a genius and that every word that spews from his piehole is pure wisdom. And how he hates it when others see him for what he is.
Thanks Jeff Tiedrich.
Elderly Golfer blithers incoherently in speech to the World Economic Forum
it was one thing for Candidate Donny to have never had any clue what he was gibbering about. who gives a shit if the confused old dotard has no idea how tariffs work, when he’s only speechifying to the cultists.
but now he’s President Donny, and his speeches are in front of world leaders — and he’s embarrassing the shit out of our country, while making a damned fool of himself at the same time.
what was supposed to be a speech about economics quickly devolved into a litany of Donny’s well-worn grievances about the transgenders, and all the other crazypants shit that pinballs around his worm-ravaged brain — and it was incoherent as fuck.
“beautiful young people are being shot in the battlefield. you know, the bullet, very flat land as I said. and the bullet goes, there’s no, there’s no hiding, and the bullet, the only thing gonna stop the bullet is a human body. and you have to see — I’ve seen pictures.”
what in the actual fuck? from what fever swamp is Donny getting this hallucination? where is this flat land from which there is no hiding from bullets — even if you are a beautiful young soldier?
Donny’s seen pictures. are these soldiers — not just young and beautiful, but big and strong, their massive biceps riddled with bullet holes — are they coming up to Donny with tears in their eyes, and going ‘sir! sir! the ground is so flat and there’s nothing to hide behind. we’re so tired of getting shot. can’t you send us to Greenland instead? they have all kinds of rocks and shit. sir!’
above all, what does this have to do with the World Economic Forum?
hey, remember Russia’s war on Ukraine, and how it ended on Day One of Donny’s presidency, just by the sheer force of Dear Leader’s will? that was pretty awesome, wasn’t it?
oh wait, actually we don’t remember any of that shit, because (spoiler alert!) it didn’t fucking happen — despite Donny’s constant bragging during the campaign about how it would.
but look — it’s not Donny’s fault that it the war hasn’t ended. nothing is ever Donny’s fault. he would have ended the war, but OPEC and Saudi Arabia have been treating him very unfairly.
“and I’m also going to ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to bring down the cost of oil. you gotta bring it down, which frankly I’m surprised they didn’t do before the election. they didn’t show a lot of love by them not doing that. I was a little surprised by that. if the price came down, the Russia-Ukraine war would end immediately. right now, the price is high enough that that war will continue. you gotta bring down the oil price, you’re gonna end that war. they should have done it long ago. they’re very responsible, actually, to a certain extent, for what’s taken place. millions of lives are being lost. with oil prices going down, I’ll demand that interest rates drop immediately, and likewise they should be dropping all over the world.”
look how quickly “I will end this war” becomes “why didn’t you end this war?” so unfair of Saudi Arabia not to “show a lot of love” by doing Dear Leader’s bidding.
and how humiliating is this? Donny’s now whining to Putin — via a social media post — that it’s so unfair of him not to end his war.

It's just his 'brilliant weave'.
Only a narcissist could utter such gibberish and not see what a fool he is. Trump has no self-awareness. Sadly there seem to be an endless number of soul-less tools who will support him in his delusion.

A little more context for those who didn't see his full speech
Trump was painting a picture in his own way, with some geological truth behind it, a picture of the carnage of the war, over the number of casualties on each side, over the number of new casualties every day. He is maneuvering to bring an end to the carnage as soon as possible.
But rather than agreeing or supporting his efforts, some find it more important to criticize Trump for showing compassion for the human suffering in both the UK and Russian and attempting to do something about it.
OK, I've had my say. Time for some what about-ism's, but I would prefer instead an explanation why Trumps approach to the UK war is a bad one.

I don't think anyone is criticizing the showing of compassion for human suffering, if that was what Trump was trying to do. They're criticizing him for being inarticulate in trying to convey that. Trump's manner of speaking might appeal to some audiences - but it's disjointed and difficult to follow at times. A master orator, he is not. Which, okay, not everyone is. But if you can't actually convey compassion for human suffering when speaking off the cuff without prepared comments, then it's not a great decision to try.
OK, I've had my say. Time for some what about-ism's, but I would prefer instead an explanation why Trumps approach to the UK war is a bad one.
What approach, exactly? He hasn't really laid out what his strategy is for approaching the war. All we know so far is what he's done - which is basically to publicly tell the parties that they should stop the war. Which is....I mean, it would be nice if they just stopped the war, but just telling them to do it isn't likely to make it happen.
Trump projected confidence on the stump that all he'd have to do is get elected and tell them to stop and they'd listen, presumably because they would be so cowed by the newly-strong America. Maybe he believed it. But Putin knows that Trump isn't sending US troops to the Ukraine, doesn't especially want to keep sending weapons and money to Ukraine, probably doesn't have any more sanction levers to pull directly against Russia, and is fraying relations with all the other OECD powers whose cooperation would be necessary to ratchet up economic pressure on Russia any further. And Ukraine isn't likely to stop fighting unless and until Trump actually cuts off the resources and materiel.
So - maybe just ordering them to stop fighting will work? Maybe Trump's ascension is enough of a game-changer that they don't have to actually do anything different to stop the fighting? But if it doesn't, I'm not sure what the approach is.

I have an idea! Let’s raise drug costs and reduce coverage under public insurance programs!!
Oh wait, Trump already did that.
Not to worry. Trump has the concept of a plan to help Americans.
Let’s burn the place down!! In his own way, what could go wrong?
President Donald Trump's early actions on health care signal his likely intention to wipe away some Biden-era programs to lower drug costs and expand coverage under public insurance programs.https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/202...

LOL. You got me there. We need to be wary of those Brits, remember they did burn the White House once, now with Trump in there, it is a more attractive target.

So well said! Trump has said virtually everything under the sun at some point, so there's always some quote someone can point to and say "See, he said the right thing".
But if you look at the total picture--his actions, the "vibe" you get when you listen to him, the follow-up--his words ring hollow.
Compassion for human suffering from Trump? You don't have to look far to find that dial on zero. It's shown virtually every day just on this board.
The most obvious example is his notorious January 6 pre-riot speech, where among so many other less benevolent statements he did slip in "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."
But then, when push literally came to shove, and police officers trying to maintain peace were being assaulted--everyone knows what happened--what did Trump actually do? Nothing. Wait, check that--he sat and watched it on TV. That's what he did. The one man who probably had the power to stop the violence just by saying something, just by asking them to stop, said nothing. For a couple of hours. He sat and watched on TV. Compassion for human suffering? Ask Mike Pence about that.
This is in America--his own country. And people want to argue that he has compassion for Ukrainians and Russians, beyond their political leaders and how could they help him achieve still more power? Yeah, right.

AFAIK, Trumps hasn't said anything about drug costs being an element of his end the Ukraine-Russia War (hat tip to sano) strategy.
Ooops, sorry, I forget you are doing what-about-ism.
