to China...
"Chinese restaurants in America today outnumber the five largest fast foods in the United States all combined. That's a pretty big statement!" ~Trump
"XI is one of the world's great leaders." ~Trump
"CHINA has a ballroom, and so should we!" ~Trump
"If you went to Hollywood and looked for a leader of China to play a role in a movie. He's central casting. He's very tall, especially for his country, they tend to be a little shorter." ~Trump
"Xi is going to order 200 jets from Boeing. Boeing wanted 150. Got 200. I think it was a commitment. Sort of more like a statement." ~Trump
As John Bolton has said, "Putin and Xi see Trump an easy mark."
Pathetic.

And don’t forget that Xi threatened Trump to not get in their way when China invades Taiwan.
Trump, turning American into the world’s biggest clown car.

And don’t forget that Xi threatened Trump to not get in their way when China invades Taiwan.
What I picked up on, was Xi talking about being a "partner" with the US, rather than a "rival". He sees China as fully the equal of the US, not a challenger.
Trumpocratic Oath: Do harm so I can grift.
Trump view "I work to benefit whoever pays me the biggest bribe". Everyone else is collateral damage, and I don't care.

Someone on TMKF -- in the early 2000s --- when you greedy 401K'ers were shouting "free Trade"-----said that one day China will take Taiwan, and all you people will do is pass resolution condemning it. )
Sadly Liberals don't mind - XI and China - is a Blue State. They love XI and China both.
Oh well.
Hopefully they get you people in other ways be it helping Russia or NK, maybe jacking up your borrowing rates ...I trust they've planned ahead.
LOL

Heh. Here are two real takeaways from the trip:
1. No big trade deal.
A fair criticism, this. Had a chance to get something done and didn't.
The big one:
2. China isn't going to do jack squat to help Iran.
For those who want to push back on this and claim the opposite, don't:
-They didn't object to the blockade
-They agree Iran should never have a nuclear weapon
-They agree that the straits of Hormuz are international waterways and that there shall be no tolls or other impediments to the free flow of energy
According to Trump China even offered to help remove Iran's enriched uranium with their own people.
From Air Force One right after takeoff Trump reiterated the same stance he's had on Iran, which means that if Xi was trying to pressure him one way or the other it didn't work.
For those who want to think that China has all the cards, you should re-think that. They are *very* heavily dependent on foreign trade and open sea lanes. Right now they feel a slight amount of pressure on their collective nuts with respect to the oil blockade. What happens if they invade Taiwan and that turns into a full-blown vice-grip amount of clamping force?
