Why do you leftists insist on posting this silly stuff with completely misleading thread titles? Sure, if by leftists you mean a person who wants the government to support and defend the U.S. Constitution.
There's nothing silly about being detained for hours. I suppose "Wrongfully Detained in Minneapolis" would be a more accurate title. But "kidnapping" is not completely misleading. The victim described it as feeling like a kidnapping.
The Minneapolis Mayor said the ICE actions were a clear violation of law. But the Supreme Court has allowed everyone in a large group to be detained when there is a fair probability of finding criminal violators (for example, all white men at gun shows can be detained and questioned). (The Supreme Court has not made a final ruling on this yet.)
ICE's claim is that there was reasonable suspicion after the person "walked out of a nearby restaurant, turned around, and fled from law enforcement". How does walking away from ICE show a person is violating immigration laws? More likely, ICE detained this person solely based on their apparent ethnicity. This violates the 4th amendment.

ICE agents wrongfully detained U.S. citizen in Minneapolis for looking Somali, city leaders say, December 10, 2025
"The agent then, at one point, he never identified himself, he didn't say 'ICE stop.' I feel like I was getting assaulted, I was getting kidnapped, and that's exactly what it was," said Mubashir. ...
"Taken into custody for no reason at all, in clear violation of law and the Constitution of the United States for simply walking down the street and looking like he's Somali," said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey.

We Found That More Than 170 U.S. Citizens Have Been Held by Immigration Agents. They’ve Been Kicked, Dragged and Detained for Days., October 16, 2025
"When the Supreme Court recently allowed immigration agents in the Los Angeles area to take race into consideration during sweeps, Justice Brett Kavanaugh said that citizens shouldn’t be concerned.
“If the officers learn that the individual they stopped is a U.S. citizen or otherwise lawfully in the United States,” Kavanaugh wrote, “they promptly let the individual go.”
But that is far from the reality many citizens have experienced. Americans have been dragged, tackled, beaten, tased and shot by immigration agents. They’ve had their necks kneeled on. They’ve been held outside in the rain while in their underwear. At least three citizens were pregnant when agents detained them. One of those women had already had the door of her home blown off while Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem watched.
About two dozen Americans have said they were held for more than a day without being able to phone lawyers or loved ones."

Supreme Court allows federal officers to more freely make immigration stops in LA
"Moreover, Kavanaugh added, although “apparent ethnicity alone cannot furnish reasonable suspicion” for an immigration stop, reasonable suspicion can rest on the “totality of the circumstances.”"

“Roving patrols,” reasonable suspicion, and Perdomo, Sep 18, 2025
"Fifty years ago, the Supreme Court ruled in United States v. Brignoni-Ponce that having “roving patrols” stop cars “near the border” whose “occupants appear to be of Mexican ancestry” violated the Constitution. But on Sept. 8, in Noem v. Vasquez Perdomo, the Supreme Court by an apparent vote of 6-3 put on hold a district court order preventing immigration sweeps of locations such as car washes and parking lots if ICE detains people based only on their ethnicity. Attorney General Pamela Bondi exulted that “[n]ow, ICE can continue carrying out roving patrols in California,” a statement that seems to fly in the face of Brignoni-Ponce. ...
It has been suggested (but, no surprise, also disputed) that large gatherings of firearms manufacturers, sellers, and firearm enthusiasts – let’s call them “gun shows” – serve as opportunities to circumvent legal regulations governing the buying, selling, or transfer of firearms (let’s call that “illegal conduct”). We can only estimate the percentage of people attending gun shows who are engaged in illegal conduct – let’s guess at 10%. Eighty-two percent of gun owners are white Caucasian men (a lesser percentage of immigrants, about 45%, are Hispanic). May federal law enforcers sweep into gun shows and detain everyone present – or, to reasonably “narrow” the seizures, all white men present – for questioning, based solely on the location and the known possibility that some of those persons are engaged in illegal conduct? That is, does a fair probability of finding criminal violators among a large group equal “reasonable suspicion” to detain and question (briefly, but against their will) everyone in the crowd?"

Somali man says he's an American citizen and speaks out after ICE detainment
"On Thursday, the Department of Homeland Security responded to the detainment, insisting racial profiling was not a factor.
“On December 9th, ICE officers were investigating criminal immigration violations in Minneapolis near a location that has a high level of criminal activity. The officers were having a consensual conversation with a suspected illegal alien. At that time, a second male individual walked out of a nearby restaurant, turned around, and fled from law enforcement.
Having reasonable suspicion--as protected under the U.S. Constitution--officers gave chase and caught up with the individual, who violently resisted officers and refused to answer questions. A large crowd of agitators descended and began to threaten the officers. For their safety, they temporarily detained the individual to safely finish asking their questions. Once officers finished their questioning, he was promptly released."
Notably, the statement does not address whether ICE personnel identified themselves or why Mubashir was targeted."
