Meant to post this earlier. 60 Minutes did a piece on Mitch McConnell this week. I found it quite interesting. One thing I didn't know was that he had polio as a child. He also very clearly admits that he worked to steal a USSC appointment from Obama near the end of his 2nd term. I think this is well worth the 14 minute run time.

mitch is clueless, and that has nothing to do with his mental condition.
he doesnt realize how much ALIKE he is to trump. to call him out in the heat of jan6, but to support trump in every structural way, is exactly the hypocrisy the gop applauds.
very few are as responsible for the rise of MAGA and displacing his beloved gop, nor in the perceived success of trump.

My takeaway from the piece is that McConnell is anything but clueless. He's smart and knows exactly what he's doing.
I suspect he would have preferred someone other than Trump to have risen up as the Republican populist, but he took what was available.

mitch was not clueless in his peak weasel days...and if he was anywhere close, i can assure you one would have to pry a political seat out of his cold dead hands. he would not be retiring.
but even the obviously edited interview could not help much...there is nothing spinning in that head.
