'Liberals gloated, then reality struck'
Snip
'Let's start the week off right with a nice big cuppa liberal tears. For eight years, liberals dreamed of seeing President Trump in a mugshot. They finally got their wish.
Liberals gloated, then reality struck.
The Hill reported, 'Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-N.Y.) shared a video of him laughing at the mugshot photo and saying, 'We got you, and more to come . . . Clown, thug, crook, criminal.''
Shortly afterward, the congressman realized the error Democrats made.
He panicked and tweeted, 'This mugshot is not what you think it is.
'It's a jackpot for Trump who will use this image to raise MILLIONS of dollars from his cult ' and the worst part is they are going to use it to win even more elections so they can change our laws to make it easier to steal our democracy.
'It's a symbol of everything that is wrong with our country. It is a reminder of the deep divisions that exist, the hatred that is spewed, and hate is tolerated. It is a sign that our democracy is in danger.'
https://donsurber.substack.com/p/thank-tom-delay-f...Yep, the mugshot heard around the world.

That has to be the stupidest republican talking point to come out of his arrest... and that's quite an accomplishment considering the mountain of stupid it's generated.

While it is true that his supporters are self-fleecing to support him, I have not found anything credible about increased black support as a result of this mugshot. I even checked fivethirtyeight, which is continually compiling polls, and didn't see any mention of it. So I am exceedingly skeptical of this claim until such time as a credible survey/poll is done.

Actually I saw it as a series of man on the street interviews with real black people. But now that I think about how implausible the idea of black support for a non democrat is, I am pretty sure these interviews were scripted with paid actors and produced on a Fox sound stage.

Crystal clear that the adjective "stupid" was not applied to Black people, but to the republicans who made that claim about Trump's indictment increasing his support among Black people......because they identify with him.

So, did you think "Blacks for Trump" meant lots of Atlanta Black people who have come out to support Trump and identify with him because of his arrest rather than the organization founded by Maurice Symonette?
"Blacks for Trump"
is Maurice Symonette, AKA "Michael the Black Man," who always was seated behind Trump at his rallies, waving one sign or another, Trump's most high-profile African American backer before Ye.
In the 1980s, Symonette was a member of a Miami cult that eventually was tangled up in a violent murder conspiracy, according to the Miami New Times. He's since reinvented himself as a far-right activist -- part conspiracy theory evangelist, part liberal antagonist. He once picketed an appearance by then-candidate Barack Obama with signs reading "Obama endorsed by the KKK." He's referred to Oprah Winfrey as "the devil," The Post reported last year.Symonette has been a fixture at Trump appearances since the 2016 election. Often he could be seen sporting a shirt advertising his website, Gods2.com. His website features conspiracies, such as "KKK Racists Are Revealed as Cherokee, Arab & Democrats," "Pres. Trump & Kushner are the Greatest Helpers of the Hebrews Since the Biblical Kingdom of Persia," and "PRES. ROOSEVELT & DEMS, STARTED VALKYRIE in 1944 to keep DEMS. SECRET SOCIETIES, & CENTRAL BANKERS in Control of America.
So, yeah, I'm gonna' stick with the suggestion that Blacks are rushing in droves to support Trump as "the stupidest republican talking point to come out of Trump's arrest". At least, so far.
Thanks for the laugh, though.

Any comment on the second video, where there was No Symonette, no logo t-shirts?
Just regular black folks, congregated along a Highway, cheering and waving, as the Trump motorcade passed by. How do you rationalize dismissing them?

Well there is the Harrison Floyd fellow who is still in jail too.
"The Aug. 14 indictment in Fulton County charges Floyd with violating Georgia's anti-racketeering law, conspiring to commit false statements, and illegally influencing a witness...
TIt says the charges stem from
harassment of Ruby Freeman, a Fulton County election worker who had been falsely accused of election fraud by Trump. Floyd took part in a Jan. 4, 2020, conversation in which Freeman was told she "needed protection" and was pressured to make false statements about election fraud, the indictment says......Floyd, identified as a former U.S. Marine who's active with the group Black Voices for Trump, was also arrested three months ago in Maryland on a federal warrant that accuses him of aggressively confronting two FBI agents sent to serve him with a grand jury subpoena."

Sure, I can well believe there are blacks that support Trump. Wasn't there Diamond and Silk? Didn't Kanye likeI Trump. It's a matter of how significant is the support. I don't think it's significant enough for me to be concerned, but if you have a trend from a reputable source, I'll look.

There were three or four dozen people, mostly using their phones to record the motorcade. Of those, I saw a group of three or four jumping up and down, laughing, waving. The others just recorded the insanely long entourage. I didn't see much waving from them. I have no idea if they support Trump or despise him. And neither do you.
Trump got about 8% of the Black vote, so no doubt he has supporters in the Black community. No one ever said otherwise. But no, not exactly an enthusiastic lovefest nor evidence of the bizarre suggestion of a rising tide of Black support for Trump.

commonone trying his best to minimize the Black folks support for Trump.
Blacks are spreading the word to friends, family, neighbors, at Church, social gatherings,
on and on. The Black Trump supporters are growing.
Try googling, you'll find out in a hurry.

Reporting facts is not minimizing. I described exactly what was on the video, as bighairymike asked me to do. And I noted that Trump has support in the Black community and got about 8% of the Black vote. Those are facts.
The Trump Cult is remarkably deluded. They believed that the second impeachment would guarantee Trump's reelection and they think the Black community is embracing Trump as one of their own for being arrested in Atlanta. When you think about it for even a moment, that's incredibly racist.
