You fell into the trap of assuming that just because the Gang of 6 represented what the dems want that the GOP members could say the same about their side. In this case, they couldn't, and the deal died.

I'm not assuming anything of the sort. I'm not saying that Graham accurately represented what the GOP wanted (though he certainly thought so, given that the President backed him up in the first meeting). I'm saying that the deal died because the GOP killed it. Not Dianne Feinstein - she agreed to the deal. Trump changed his mind.

Whether you think he was right to change his mind, or whether Miller and Kelly were right to bring the hardliners in, or whether the hardliners have the better position substantively - it's still the GOP that decided to pull the plug on the deal. Not Feinstein.
