I get your point. But you also need the demographics you usually win to show up also. You have to give them something. You have to reassure them that the ideals of justice are on your side. I agree with you that getting lost in the weeds of pronouns is a losing strategy. Wallet issues will swing a lot of voters. But you still need "your side" to show up, or it won't matter.
