1. She wants to ban plastic straws.
2. She has an awkward laugh.
The horror.
Seriously, that's Hannity's line of attack.
Back in the real world, endorsements are flooding in:
• 119 House members
• 17 Senators
• 8 Governors
• President Biden, the Clintons
• 8/9 squad members

Fox News is biased. But she does have an awkward laugh that she has to overcome. She does not project strength, unfortunately that is what the voters want at this time. Of course, she would be a better president than Trump, no doubt, even I would be. But not Biden.

For those who lack a basic understanding of politics, the democratic party is rapidly closing ranks around Harris' place at the top of the democratic ticket. The endorsements are a sign of unity. In fact, by the end of the day yesterday, all 50 Democratic party state chairs had thrown their weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris to be the party's new presidential nominee.
Now tell us why the GOP isn't demanding that the oldest candidate to ever run for the presidency, a man with 34 felony convictions, an adjudicated rapist who is often incoherent, isn't being asked to leave the race?

Now tell us why the GOP isn't demanding that the oldest candidate to ever run for the presidency, a man with 34 felony convictions, an adjudicated rapist who is often incoherent, isn't being asked to leave the race?Age is not the problem, the problem is Biden is in mental decline, Trump is not.
Trump does not have the gift gab like say..Obama has.
Conservatives and Republicans do not care about the embellished witch hunt crimes Trump is accused of any more than the left and democrats cared about Bill Clinton proven crimes, rapes
and desecrations in the Oval Office.

That doesn't clinch it, of course. But the Newsom, Shapiro, Beshear, Polis, Kelly and Buttigieg endorsements - combined with Whitmer informally declining a run - makes it pretty likely that she'll get the nod.
That's almost all the top-tier alternative candidates to Harris. So who's left? J.B. Pritzker, really. So not only did all of her top competition forego a race, but all of her top competition felt that this wasn't an opportune time to run - which means it's pretty unlikely that Pritzker would survey the landscape and come to a different conclusion. Esp. since with Newsom out, Harris has a near lock on all those CA delegates.
So it's hard to see any serious rival throwing their hat in. Sure, Marianne Richardson will try - why not? But it's sure looking like Harris gets the nod. Which, again, was always the most likely outcome if Biden dropped.
Just to also get it out there, Trump is still very much the favorite to win the Presidency. Harris is not likely to beat him. But this gives Democratic House candidates (and Brown and Tester) a reprieve from having to defend the top of the ticket on the campaign trail.

LOL. So now after months of “Biden is totall fit to be President you guys” the China bot farm now say age is an issue?
Yeah. That’s not the flex the bot thinks it is.

Nope. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker endorsed Harris this morning.
So that's it, then - all over but the shouting.
The real question then turns to the Veepstakes. Harris has several swing-state governors to choose from (MI, PA, AZ), along with Beshear to possibly provide geographic balance and Pritzker to (theoretically) provide an open checkbook.

Yeah. That’s not the flex the bot thinks it is.
Probably not. Yet one of the benefits of moving out of the glass house is that you get to toss a few stones.
On the flip side, after months of "Biden is too old to be President you guys" the GOP bot farm will have trouble arguing that age isn't an issue. Trump's an old man, too, and also suffers from diminished verbal acuity when he's not on teleprompter. After enduring interminable incoming fire on that issue, the Democrats are going to delight in turning those tables on Trump and highlighting his uncomfortably wandering and discursive speeches - as well as the side-by-sides that now feature a candidate in their 50's up against the geriatric Trump.
Just as the Republicans will revel in being able to criticize the Democrats for eschewing the primary vote to get a different candidate, the Democrats will enjoy being able to attack Trump as being cognitively unfit for the office even now (let alone in year four of a future administration, when he'll be older than Biden is now).

Have you ever listened to Harris speak for more than 30 seconds? She lacks the ability to speak extemporaneously- seriously. After a bit she just starts issuing word salads.
They’ll throw that rock…but the more they put her on the campaign trail, the more they’ll find they’re throwing it from a glass skyscraper.
The dems can still win…they just need to keep Harris out of the public eye the same way they did Biden in 2020. The more the public sees of her the less popular she’ll become.

Sure - she's not an outstanding public speaker. But her mediocrity at public speaking is just that...being a poor public speaker. Because she's in her 50's, and not 78, that's going to be impossible to frame as a mental cognition issue the way Trump's word salads can be attacked.
It's the flip side to the Biden issue. Biden's campaign didn't crater because he had a "bad debate" or did a poor job speaking extemporaneously - his campaign immolated because his speech patterns made it clear that he had suffered cognitive decline that made everyone doubt his ability to serve as a candidate.
The Democrats are going to turn that back on Trump as an element of their campaign salvo. And just as Trump's word salads didn't stop him from effectively using that against Biden (or force him to go in a glass skyscraper), it's unlikely that Harris' poor public speaking will stop her.
It's Trump's turn in the "too old to serve" barrel.

Dope1: LOL. So now after months of “Biden is totall [sic] fit to be President you guys” the China bot farm now say age is an issue?

China bot? Right. Every republican politician east or west of the Mississippi has spent the entire year saying Biden was too old to run again. Every major media outlet, too. Now that Trump's the geezer in the race, age is suddenly unimportant. My point, which you missed of course, is that the media couldn't run enough articles about Biden's age but now that Biden's done what republicans and the media hounded him to do -- withdraw -- let's see if the media refocuses its age lens on the oldest guy ever to run for the office, the rapist felon Donald John, and write article after article after article questioning his age, fitness, endless verbal gaffes, and mental acuity.
Not holding my breath.

Lulz. Yes, your content is straight from a bot farm.
Your team of programmers is forgetting something. Actually, multiple somethings.
One, the age thing with Biden was the mental acuity thing that outfits like your farm lied about. How’d that end up working out for you? BTW:
I told you so.
Two, Kamala Harris has run for President before. Ever heard her speak?
Your best chance is to hide her in the same basement they kept Biden in.

She better not take our governor!! AZ still leans red. If not for Kari Lake, we'd probably have a Rep governor instead of Hobbs. But Lake is a fruitcake, and enough people realized it, so she lost. A less-rabid candidate probably would have won.
Harris is West Coast, Asian/Black. She's gonna need someone from fly-over country that is from a swing state, I think.
I think she has a shot at winning if the campaign is handled properly. Tout all the accomplishments the last four years, and the vileness/corruption/criminality of convict Trump for the past 8 years, plus throw in some abortion rights for good measure, and it can be done. But, yeah, I expect it to be an uphill battle.

Oh, and the prediction from the right about Whitmer was -as usual- wrong. She has no interest in a VP spot.
I'm not up on politics from places like PA or MI, so I don't know whom might be chosen. I suspect it wouldn't be Manchin (WV...not a swing state, I don't think), though that would be a bold choice (not sure if good or bad). He already quashed speculation that he would try to run for POTUS.

rumor has it that trump is scared to debate harris, but may have to.
let's hope the dems use their leverage properly this time to set the terms and mic moderation in real-time as lies spew. (and harris doesnt pick up the debate manager from the biden campaign)
regarding "Trump is still very much the favorite to win the Presidency", am modestly skeptical.
a. the largest factions, MAGA and anti-trump, are unchanged.
b. registered dems are a larger group than registered GOP, and pro-dems should get a boost...but how big?
c. polls have been bad since 2016, especially on the ~30% of true independents that do not respond to polls but show up to vote. that has trended blue per actual results.
in summary, the electoral college remains the same (more difficult for dems), and the inability to prospectively weigh b+c remains.
i would be curious if any well regarded non-politician with name recognition would have been considered for dem VP.
somebody 'like' jamie dimon, who preferred trump to biden, but i am fairly sure has loyalty to neither party. he certainly would make Vance appear as a finbro chump.

Irony meter off the charts! Do you realize how utterly ridiculous that sounds coming from someone who supports Mr. Malaprop, Don Word-salad Trump?
Can you really be that un-selfaware? Goes with being MAGA.

We know the right wing media won't mention it. They'll say he is as fit as a 20 year old and a genius to boot.
The mainstream media is so afraid of being accused of being biased they are much more comfortable criticizing Biden/Harris than Trump.
