I rather expect a future like the evolution of TV.I rather expect a different form of evolution. Sorry, I know that as this post is not (directly) about the economic impact of AI, on this "AI and it´s economic effects" board it should be labelled OT, but maybe one or the other might be interested in a non-economic little side effect of AI, illuminated e.g. by this "The Economist" article with interesting details about the OpenAI/HuggingFace incident:
https://archive.ph/uOUZ1Personal take: While since years I am saying "Terminator" is becoming reality my timing was wrong - it will arrive sooner than I expected.
P.S.: Lately I had a new thought: Who knows, maybe if we are lucky these new gods will look benevolent down on us. With the world within the last 20 or so years becoming ever more crazy and an ever more potentially self-destructive place (nuclear proliferation, new bio-weapons etc., all of that in a time of ever increasing political divide), maybe AI taking over is humankinds last chance.
P.P.S.: It appeared to be so innocent and harmless when end of 80´s/beginning of 90´s I used "BrainMaker", a neural network, the earliest version of today´s AI´s.
