Best Buy is discounting HR Block software right now, for the next 13 hours according to their website.
I got HR Block Deluxe for $26.99, priced everywhere else at $42.
I don't know if that's dynamic pricing that's unique to my account, or generally available to everyone.

I've had good luck being patient and shopping around. Two years ago I got HR Block Deluxe for $17 on Amazon.

Just for future reference but FreeTaxUSA costs nothing for US tax returns and $15 for most state returns. It is all online and handles most returns but probably not everyones.

You can always go to their website, sign up for an account, leave out personal details and test it and see how it compares.
