Or, more like 48/48 with some undecided.

Reps have been make gains in the population, and are now at relative parity with Dems. Reps should be welcoming Hispanic folks, making them citizens, and getting them to vote. Reps have made strides among the Hispanic population (especially those who don't have a college degree and identify as protestant). Makes sense since a lot of that group is religious/conservative, and would naturally gravitate towards Reps if the Reps weren't so hostile to them. They also care about the economy (as do most people).

“It is also important to remember that the Latino population is extremely dynamic,” Mr. Fraga said. “There are a tremendous number of newly eligible voters in every election cycle. And what we perceive as a change or shift for Latinos is going to be disproportionately due to new voters.”

“About one third of Latino voters weren’t even in the electorate before 2016,” he added.

I don't think that would help them much, politically. The foreign-born Hispanic population leans much more Democratic than Hispanics overall. Most of the U.S. Hispanic population consists of white people who were born here, and that's a much more target-rich environment for the GOP than trying to go after immigrants (much less immigrants who are not yet naturalized).

Why do you say Reps are hostile to them?
