Yep, when a politician campaigns on doing something day one, he is really saying the issue is significant and solving it high priority. It is obvious that many complex problems will require effort, focus and perseverance over time to achieve progress and ultimately a solution. This is especially true, and obvious, if the solution requires negotiations with other countries, or the construction of infrastructure, or congressional funding in whole or in part.
