Make a call. US Citizen or not?

SNIP In a press release, the airline said Caribbean Airlines' Flight 005 was on its final approach from Kingston, Jamaica, to New York City just before noon on Saturday when the mother went into labor.

When the aircraft landed, both the mother and the newborn were attended to by medical personnel and the crew followed procedure, the airline said.

"The airline commends the professionalism and measured response of its crew, who managed the situation in accordance with established procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of all onboard," the airline said in the press release. "Caribbean Airlines also confirms that no emergency was declared during the flight."

According to air traffic controller audio obtained by CBS News, a ground controller then said the child should be named "Kennedy" because the flight landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City.SNIP

Clearly a newborn U.S. citizen. They were over U.S. land and not far over it at that. Surely, a baby doesn't have to fall out of a mother lying on the bare ground and hit bare U.S. soil to count! 😊 (Oh, noes! I hope I didn't give a certain orange toddler any bright ideas!)

Likely true, but I wonder, if the mother hadn't passed through passport control, did she really give birth in the U.S.?

He won't--because that would suddenly classify MOST "natural born US citizens" as NOT being US citizens. Spankee did NOT hit "bare US soil" when born, so he would NOT be a US citizen given such a declaration--and he could NOT be President as a consequence.

I checked the net sifter. Although the airline is Jamaican, when it is in US airspace, it is deemed to be under US law.

Of course, the regime's primary interest is if the baby is white.

Is an aircraft in the air on an international flight, like a ship at sea, the sovereign territory of the Captain?
