One functionality that the old boards had that I used a lot was hitting < enter > to go to the next post. Maybe something for Manlobbi's programming list.

There may have been other shortcuts that I did not know about.

What an ingenious concept: I did not observe it, yet I can see how it would be pleasant once you know it is there. I'll programme it shortly.

The old boards used this:

, or browses previous
. or <enter> browses next

Either thread or post depending on which mode you were using. I first learned about it from one of threads on the new boards about saving posts and yes, it was very pleasant when doing a lot of browsing.

Done. Whilst reading any post (unthreaded):
, or . browses previous page
<enter> browses next page

I have programmed it that way. The threaded programming is a little different (for now) so better to apply this just to the unthreaded reading.

You basically use , and . to move backward and forward through posts, which matches most keyboards having '<' and '>' on the same keys, so it is elegant.

As for <enter> I have just made for moving to the next page, which I find also beautiful, as that is the usual way people read, but I didn't add the / key for previous - it's too much. The , and . pair of keys are perfect for that, and <enter> is dedicated to reading forward through posts.

Genius! The < enter > is super comfortable on a desktop keyboard with number pad. Thank you for that!

Thanks! By the way, I looked into how the old boards worked and by the time I posted I noticed 'Done, programmed and working now.'. :) So it was just for reference.

Works perfectly. Seems to work as expected in threaded reading as well(?)
