4th quarter earnings released after market closed today

On first read there seems to be a lot to like

- Earnings up 30% compared to 4th quarter last year. From CFO "driven by strong results on all our key metrics, including a decelerating normalized growth of expenses1 which was below inflation for the fourth quarter when normalized for the estimated impact of the additional week in this quarter"
- 27% increase in dividend
- ROE increased to 24.7%
- $440M share repurchasesin 4th Q. 2B over the full year.
- More acquisitions - stations / stores from Total energy, as well as a large car wash chain

Its a top 5 (3%) position for me behind BRK, GOOGL. Have been steadiliy acquiring over the past 3+ years. A steady grower. Now thinking it ought to be larger.

I have a small position in it, which I initially bought to encourage me to follow the company closer. Didnt work and never looked at it again... bought it in dec 21 at CAD 47.xx so pretty decent return. given a lack of better ideas, may need to study this one again

I noticed...but only after another friend reached out to alert me and ask if I still held it, which fortunately I do. 4th quarter profit doubled from the year prior.
Nothing to complain about I suppose, yet if the big increasein earnings is primarily the result of increased fuel prices / margin this past quarter, then I would expect the next report to disappoint, no? And same store sales in US and europe were down a bit.
For the chartists out there, can we call this a breakout? Im holding

Still a shareholder. Nearly dead-even with SPY since my purchases in 2021. Not complaining.
