Interesting story on NBC News tonight on what appears to be a prosperous Connecticut retiree who was tossed out of his rehab facility after 2 weeks, unable to dress himself or walk.

I don't know what he expected if he signed up for Medicare Advantage.

I have traditional Medicare with a high deductible Plan G Medigap supplement that costs $48/month and limits my out-of-pocket cost to a max of about $3,000/yr.

I unexpectedly had my right leg amputated about a year ago due to a medical error. Never heard a peep from an insurance company and Medicare provided me with all the rehab my doctor ordered and a $90,000 microprocessor-controlled prosthetic leg. (No doubt, Medicare Advantage would have put me in a cheap peg leg.)
