If his doors are all locked, how does someone get in to help? <--Another point to consider.

Pick up a lockbox at Lowes or Amazon, like those non-electronic ones Realtors use. The cheaper ones are about $45 and have a 4 digit code that you punch in. We keep a spare set of keys in ours, which was found to be necessary when the garage doors wouldn't open during power failures. As long has the person is conscious inside, he can give someone the code by phone to access the keys.

We also encouraged our tenants to put one up when we had rentals. We charged a fee that was more than the cost of a lockbox to provide locked out service.
