The only one of those that Trump has some indirect influence on is the interest rates, he has certainly been lobbying heavily for cuts to the interest rates, but the Fed actually has to make those decisions.

Exactly! But not only that. How many excellent federal employees left the federal service voluntarily, in fear that they might soon be DOGE'd for no good cause. That's the route I thought it prudent to take this past April.
But admittedly, it was my choice to retire at that time rather than seek other employment, even though I had planned to continue working for another 2 years to feel conservatively financially comfortable. So my name would not currently be included among the lists of the unemployed.

Unnecessary. There already is legislation on the books that makes Trump's tariffs illegal, as the conservative-led Supreme Court is likely to soon rule. Can we help it if Trump repeatedly chooses to break the law?
We wonder very much why you seem to be in support of ignoring the laws already on the books. Does it make sense for Trump to flout the law? Are new laws necessary when old ones should work just fine? What is a bad tariff? And who decides? Congress can't possibly keep up with the pace of necessary legislation to back up the President, any president, as he negotiates trade deals with foreign governments.
Threatening tariffs, implementing tariffs, horse trading dead lines and percentages is part of the daily grind of foreign relations. Tariffs are an effective tool to have in the toolbox as we try to influence foreign behavior.
