With friends like us, who needs enemies?

https://www.timesofisrael.com/us-said-offering-int...

Gaza City, April 14, 2023. (Mohammed Abed / AFP)
The Biden administration has reportedly offered to give Israel “sensitive intelligence” on the whereabouts of senior Hamas leaders if it agrees to hold off on a long-promised major military operation in Gaza’s southernmost city of Rafah.

The Washington Post quoted four unnamed sources as saying that the United States “is offering Israel valuable assistance if it holds back, including sensitive intelligence to help the Israeli military pinpoint the location of Hamas leaders and find the group’s hidden tunnels.”

This is the problem of performative politics: your decisions become about the optics instead of where they should be focused, which is on solving problems.

In this case if the most pressing problem is the " " Israeli-caused famine " " (Air quotes) in Gaza, then the fastest way to end it is to end Hamas. Sharing intel on how to get at these guys along with where the tunnels are would speed things up. Eliminate Hamas, end the military operation, start rebuilding.

But that's NOT the administration's goal. The goal is to appear to wag a finger at Netanyahu so as to appear righteous to a few thousand voters in Michigan. That's not a sustainable approach; if anything, they should be looking at ways to hasten Hamas' demise.

Dope1: With friends like us, who needs enemies?

You need better reading skills.

From your link:

Comments from White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby at a Thursday briefing appeared to be in line with the report, though he noted that such intelligence was already being given to Israel.

“We could also, in fact, help them target the leaders, including [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar, which we are, frankly, doing with the Israelis on an ongoing basis,” he said.

So the Biden administration is already doing what you claim the article says they're not doing.

And Israel is evidently doing what has been asked of them:

Israel’s security cabinet voted on Thursday to approve a measured expansion of the Rafah operation in what is aimed to remain within the scope of what Washington is willing to accept.

But hey, I heard that Hannibal Lecter is a great guy.

Lulzies. Was English the first language you were programmed with? Doesn't seem like it. Comments from White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby at a Thursday briefing appeared to be in line with the report, <--- you should have stopped there.

“We could also, in fact, help them target the leaders, including [Hamas leader Yahya] Sinwar, which we are, frankly, doing with the Israelis on an ongoing basis,” he said.

This sentence says two things simultaneously. Are you aware of that?

Then there's...
The Washington Post report came after two officials familiar with the matter told The Times of Israel on Friday that Sinwar is not hiding in Rafah, citing recent intelligence assessments that placed the Hamas leader in underground tunnels in the Khan Younis area.

Missed that, did we? In other words, Kirby confirmed the report. (He's much better at this than KJP is, by the way).

Israel’s security cabinet voted on Thursday to approve a measured expansion of the Rafah operation in what is aimed to remain within the scope of what Washington is willing to accept.

Logic isn't your strong suit. I know you and the ya-ya's here like to think you have, but you've not refuted anything I said.

How does slowing down get the war over sooner? I'll answer for you - it doesn't. And if you want to try to push back on that, then riddle me this: If Israel is going ahead full speed and that's 'within the scope of what Washington is willing to accept', then why all the holdups?

Please stick to reporting partisan slants on Trump's court trials. That's your wheelhouse.

Serious issues...not so much.

Where's the cries of "our allies! Our allies!"

A few reasons why they are not as fervent on the Left:

1.)They are Anti Israel - and - quietly sort of Anti something else. (A condition I used to decry - but do NOT any more)

2.)"Allies!" - to the Left means merely - Their colonizer moocher slaver racist World War creating Western European masters.

3.)They know this is all token stuff. Just like the "Bibi!" cries. You could withhold a nugget of intel - sure. The Mossad is on training wheels and they dont have any intel on Hamas do they. And the "weapons" Biden isn't giving - certain Israel never ever ever needed weapons and they're known not to have enough on hand.

Point being - Bibi can become a circus clown in Vegas - you can withhold a nugget of intel and hold up an arms transfer and nOTHING changes - Israel still owns American politics.

Those are the reasons - the Left isn't too worried.
