For only the second time in its 179-year history, the editors of Scientific American are endorsing a candidate for president: Kamala Harris. "One of two futures will materialize according to our choices in this election. Only one is a vote for reality and integrity. We urge you to vote for Kamala Harris."
Before making this endorsement, we evaluated Harris’s record as a U.S. senator and as vice president under Joe Biden, as well as policy proposals she’s made as a presidential candidate. Her opponent, Donald Trump, who was president from 2017 to 2021, also has a record—a disastrous one. Let’s compare. https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/vote-fo...

Sadly, all these endorsements from admirable sources seems to have no effect on the MAGA mind. But that's how it is with a cult. Rationality goes out the window.

herein lies the secret sauce of the current and future model of conservatives.
it applies no relevancy to science, evidence, logic, nor reason.
so as 'conservatives' are ~50% of americans that appreciate (not just accept) this, the robust nature of its danger far outlasts trump.
disdain for these things by large swaths of population occurs at an early age, and is highly conditioned by family.

That's not the point of these endorsements. Those with a MAGA mind are not the target. The target of these endorsements are the thin slice of undecided voters in about 7 states who will decide this Presidential election. Those are the people who can be swayed by this kind of information and endorsement.

Indeed.
Anti-intellectualism has long been a staple of the American ignorati, but Trump has unleashed a rabid and sadly very popular form of it. He, and the cynical right wing media, have made it easy for many people to be proud of their ignorance. Dunning-Kruger effect on steroids.
