U.S. crude oil set to top $70 a barrel when trading begins on fears of Iran supply disruption

Kalshi prediction markets currently see a 79% likelihood that U.S. crude oil hits at least $73 per barrel or more. U.S. crude closed at $67.02 per barrel on Friday, having run up 17% so far this year in anticipation of a possible Iran attack. Energy futures begin trading at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Live updates: Trump vows to ‘avenge’ the deaths of U.S. service members, says combat operations continue

President Donald Trump said he will “avenge” the deaths of three U.S. service members and said the combat operations in Iran that began Saturday will continue. Trump spoke in a pre-recorded Truth Social post Sunday afternoon.

Trump earlier Sunday told CNBC’s Joe Kernen that U.S. military operations in Iran are “ahead of schedule.”

Last week, Cenk said Trump would leverage any casualties from Iranian retaliation as an excuse to escalate.

Yeah baby. Burn the entire Persian Gulf down. Make US big oil rich beyond the dreams of Avarice.

WTIC opened at 75/barrel.

It’s down to 72, but as you indicate, it closed on Friday at 67.

If this harebrained war ends this week, then sure, prices may calm down.

If not, or if Strait of Hormuz is effectively blocked……

"... rich beyond the dreams of Avarice."

That's like infinity + 1.

And, a few weeks ago, WTI was below $60. Funny how the market knows in advance. My holdings in big oil gained more, just on last Friday, than I paid for my car, new. Where are those stickers I used to see on gas pumps, with a picture of Biden, captioned "I did that"? Trump the Magnificent and Perfect will, almost certainly, eclipse Biden's record.

If not, or if Strait of Hormuz is effectively blocked…

The NBC evening "news" reported a lot of tankers are anchoring outside of the Persian Gulf, rather than run the gauntlet. The current Iraqi government is quite close to Iran. The news reported a huge mob tried to get at the US embassy in Baghdad today.

Meanwhile, here in Shinyland, the "news" covered flox of Iranian ex-pats, waving the old Imperial flag, the one with the lion on it, and cheering. I'm sure thee would be celebrations in Florida, if God on Earth Trump attacked Cuba too.
