I'm waiting for the big one: when they demand everyone show their papers to prove they are eligible to receive benefits. There was a piece on the wire, a few months ago, about a guy, born in Canada, with one USian parent, who had lived, worked, and paid taxes, as a US citizen, for decades. He tried to claim his Social Security benefit, that he had paid for, and was rejected on the grounds he was not a US citizen.
