I'm wondering if anyone has moved from the 27"iMac to the newer 24" iMac and how happy/unhappy they are with the new display?
I plan to keep our 2 27" iMacs as long as possible (I think they are 2017 and 2021). For what I do with them they work well and I really dread going to a smaller, lower quality display.
Thanks
Rich

What is the advantage of a 27" iMac over a MacMini with a 27" monitor (my set up)?

Hmm, a bit late to the discussion, but my wife's 27" iMac. began acting up as its fusion HD apparently was nearing its end game, so we bought a newer, smaller iMac, after waiting a while to see if a 30" or 32" might be showing up, as rumors flew around... She's very happy with it, only grumbles if I do an Update that changes things, so, for now I have not gone to OS26, left it at 18.7, until forced to move on...
Meantime I cleaned out the old 27", trying to decide if it's worthwhile to replace the HD, maybe bump the memory, if possible. So it sets behind me, too nice to recycle, but one day, maybe I'll dive in... My Mac mini M@ is happy with my Dell 32" monitor, while its prior feed, the 2010 Mac Pro acts as a desk extension shelf, as it has for years, hade a riser support it sets on so it matches my desk height, a sheet of 1/4" plexiglass tops it off, just right..
Waiting on the next 26 updates...

I don't know what your monitor is but except for some quite expensive monitors their resolution is less than what you get in the "old" iMacs. 5120x2880 A 5K Retina display with high pixel density. One of those things once you use you hate to go without but it was a huge bargain considering you got a computer with it.
I plan to keep our iMacs as long as they are functional. Mine I upgraded to 40GB a while ago when I was doing a lot of virtual machines. At some point software issues will get us (i.e., things not running on older OS) and I will reluctantly move on.
