That seems to be a theme on the right. Outrage publicly, but privately they're doing it. Like "family values", but they're diddling male interns, or meeting strangers at truck stops (I seem to remember that from about 20 year or so ago?), or cheating on your dying wife (more recently).

I think Shakespeare had that in mind when he penned "methinks he doth protest too much", even if there weren't any Republicans back in his day.
