Apologies in advance, but since dollar stores have been of interest to this board for quite some time, and as Dollarama has been mentioned a couple of times, I thought I would share their latest earnings release, which came out yesterday.

https://seekingalpha.com/pr/19461714-dollarama-rep...

On first blush the numbers look quite good, which raiases the question of why their results are so different from what DLTR and DG have reported.

I know that Canadians are more law abiding than their neighbors to the south, but I cant imagine that this difference can all be attributed to shrinkage.

Is the Canadian economy in substantially different shape than whats happening in the US in ways that are obscured by headline inflation and wage numbers?

Other thoughts?

As Ive been dollar cost avergaing (no pun intended) into Dolorama for the past couple of years Im not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth. Just trying to get a better handle on the differences in performance between a couple of my holdings.
