The very first thing Hakeem is going to do after being elected Speaker of the House is flying down to Mar a Lago and have dinner with King Trump, and kiss Trump's ring.
Of course, that assumes Nancy Pelosi doesn't flip flop and unretire so she can take control of the House of Reps. again.

From what I'm seeing the Senate is still marginally predicted to remain in Republican hands after 2026 midterms. Things could change of course but the Senate electoral map is said to be favorable to Republicans.
I guess when they win in 2026 the Democrats will spend the following 2 years impeaching Trump 4 or 5 times rather than actually try to get anything useful done.

Does Hakeem Jeffries understand that if Demos take the House in 2026, he is still going to need 60 senators (so let's say 10 Republican Senators) to get any legislation to Trump's desk? That's not even talking about Trump vetoing anything.
