That is a great and powerful thought. The earliest use of it that I've been able to find is in a Twitter post in 2012. I find it hard to believe that it hadn't been said before that, but what do I know.

Why do some demographics rise from poverty to prominence.

While other demographics remain structurally and traditionally poor?

The upwardly mobile poor face the same rich people and same racist America, right?


(And - i 100% support safety net. I fully agree and have said that to say - "here's a tax credit - go fix yourself" is dumb. I just don't agree with White Liberal plantation tendencies)
