"Three weeks ago, the news cycle stopped briefly on a subject that for a brief moment was shocking even in spite of this algorithmic numbing. The dazzling glare of public exposure shone a light on a global network of rich and powerful men, many of them household names, who had participated in, or turned a blind eye to, an international trafficking operation involving hundreds of women and girls. For the briefest of moments, it felt like a sharp blast of daylight had been shone on one of the darkest corners of our world. There was no path to justice or accountability for the victims of Jeffrey Epstein, but there was some small comfort in that at least, finally, it couldn’t be ignored.
How wrong can you be? Of course, it could be. The news cycle hasn’t just moved on, we are now deep into the testosterone zone, the fizzing, almost sexual excitement of war. This is what the early stages of all wars look like. Pumped up officials walking stiff-legged to podiums to tell the waiting press about the incredible potency of their firepower. Videos of fighter jets commanding the skies. Mesmerising footage of high-tech “intercepts” across the night sky. Spectacular explosions among dense tower blocks, all of it so familiar from any video game while a constant parade of interchangeable military men, analysts, commentators pontificate across our screens." —Carole Cadwalladr

The news cycle hasn’t just moved on, we are now deep into the testosterone zone, the fizzing, almost sexual excitement of war. What I can't figure out, is who is "Baghdad Bob" this time. I would normally take everything from the Iranian regime with a sizeable truckload of salt, but with Trump the Magnificent's track record, I can't tell who is lying and exaggerating more.
Al-Sahhaf came to worldwide prominence during the 2003 invasion of Iraq when he acted as a spokesman for Saddam Hussein's government. He has been nicknamed Baghdad Bob and Comical Ali due to his colorful and blatantly inaccurate media pronouncements. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muhammad_Saeed_al-Sa...Steve

The rest of the story:
Al-Sahhaf's fame quickly evaporated as the war continued into the insurgency phase; from the middle of 2003 onward, he faded from the public spotlight, and was no longer a figure in the war. Al-Sahhaf said that he had surrendered to United States forces, had been interrogated by them, and had been released.[20][21] He was not charged for his role in Saddam Hussein's government.[21]
In January 2004, The Guardian reported that al-Sahhaf had been hired by Abu Dhabi TV to provide expert commentary on Saddam.
In March 2008, it was reported by The Times that al-Sahhaf was living in the United Arab Emirates.

Trump says war against Iran is 'very complete,' CBS News reports
"I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force," Trump told CBS News.
