I'm interested in the news and opinions expressed within the US Policy board. But when I first tried to read it, there was a lot of "noise" as well as the kind of info I was seeking. So, for a while I quit trying to follow it.
But, in these times of geopolitical major issues combined with continued attacks on the US Constitution and basic human rights, I still wanted the thoughts of others that contained useful information and insights.
So I tried a new tactic. When I noticed a high volume contributor with repetitive comments and little or no useful information, I used the Frowny Face to ignore them. There were a reasonably small number of them, on both sides of the political spectrum. But I found the board to now be much more readable and useful. So it's now back on my daily reading.
Today I wondered how many posts I had ignored. So I took the last 100 posts I'd read, and counted the "gaps" in the numbers. I found that 147 posts had occurred during this period, of which 47 were people I had ignored. So I had reduced my reading by 32% - while achieving a higher quality source of information. Plus lower irritation, at least for me.
To a much smaller extent, I've done the same on the BRK board. From "reply" comments by others when names pop up, I don't think I've missed much.
I thank Manlobbi for including this option.
