I think we all know the answer.

We've seen this many times before. A situation that in no way calls for deadly force, but an officer who cannot tolerate having someone disobey an order.

A good officer, and I would say the vast majority of officers, would realize there was absolutely no reason to deploy deadly force. In this case there was only a minor offense which could be handled by taking a license plate number and dealing with it later.

When I was in law enforcement I remember a fellow officer talking about stopping a violator for a minor offense. The subject told my friend he was going to leave and the officer couldn't catch him. My friend said "See this radio? It's signals travel at the speed of light. Are you faster than that?" The violator got the point...and the ticket.

ICE is a fucking mess. Ill trained and poorly recruited.

I've mentioned before that I attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA. That training included a lot of training re the Constitution, legal procedures and civil liberties taught by lawyers.

I have to wonder WTF is going on there now with the push to recruit and train huge numbers of ICE officers.

ICE has shortened some training durations and streamlined programs to increase hiring speed, focusing on practical field skills and leveraging technology, including reducing some Spanish language requirements.

Maybe not so much law and civil liberties?

Well, I certainly don't believe the NY Times.

The ICE officer's first shot was clearly a justified shooting as he was right in front of the vehicle. She reversed, and instead of stopping, started going forward.

It's absurd to start talking about which way her wheels may have been turning, for one thing, how is the officer in front of the vehicle when it's basically on top of him, going to be able to see which way the tires are at any given micro second.

Second, she could just have easily yanked the steering wheel back toward him.

Hindsight is 20-20 and these things are not determined by hindsight, but by the officer's viewpoint in an emergency situation.

The 2nd and 3rd bullets are somewhat problematic as it looks like she was heading away by that time. But to proclaim anything is so clear that he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is simply your bias, and the NY Times's.

A more interesting issue is that the deceased SUV driver, if one looks at the available photos of her, clearly has strong indications of fetal alcohol syndrome. So maybe she was just mentally impaired. That is consistent with being a Leftist who thinks it's a good idea to do what she did in this particular situation.

It's crystal clear from the video taken from behind Good's car that the goon who fired the three shots (and was only seconds before filming with a cell phone) was in no danger of being hit and I see no reason why he went to the hospital. Was it merely to establish some evidence of injury?

Yes, there is one bullet hole in the windshield. Minneapolis PD can measure bullet direction from where the bullet hit, after going through the windshield. The other two shots apparently went through the open side window, ie, when the car was going past the officer, and he was safely out of it's path.

In the past, I would be pretty confident that the coroner's report would be released to the public. Now? I'm not so sure.

I just did another frame by frame advance of the video. When the officer first pulls his gun, he is about in front of the left side headlight. When the cloud of smoke from the first shot appears, he is completely clear of the car's path, you can see his feet beyond the officer in the foreground. It was close, but he was clear.

The problem with frame by frame analysis is that the ICE officer is making decisions in "real time."

The entire thing may have happened in one, maybe 2 seconds. Tops.

There was more than just the shooting officer in the immediate vicinity of the reckless SUV driver. At least one or maybe two others.

Much as you want to apply 20/20 hindsight, that's not the correct standard.

Think about it.

You've probably spent far more than one or two seconds analyzing various video that's available on the internet. (Doesn't include what they might have collected from people's cell phones etc. from different angles and so forth.)

Was the shooting justified? None of us knows for sure. We don't know. If a big SUV is two feet away from you you don't know which way to jump and you don't know the driver's intentions, other than that they are not stopping and not listening to law enforcement and RESISISTING!!!!.

Yes, he had to make a split second decision. A normal "self preservation" response would be to get out of the way. The car was not moving that fast. The video shows his first response was to pull his gun. By the time he fired the third shot, he was a full arm's length clear of the car.

Initially, she positioned her car horizontally on the street. But when more and more ICE vehicles started arriving, she tried to maneuver her car out the street, attempting to leave, but first stopped to let other cars pass through ahead of her. That's when the masked, armed ICE thugs parked their cars and marched up and screamed at her to "Get outta' the fuckin' car!" She tried to drive away and was shot in the face.

ICE then refused to let a man who identified himself as a doctor help her (ICE said they didn't care if he was a doctor; they had medics on the scene). Yet no medics arrived right away.

The shooter and other ICE thugs drove off within a minute or so.

The shooter did ask someone to call 911 before he fled.

Keep an open mind.

If a vehicle comes at you, GET OUT OF THE WAY, is the best way to avoid being hit. As we saw in this case, the vehicle kept going, with a dead woman at the wheel, until it hit another car.

ICE officers are trained to never approach a vehicle from the front and instead to approach in a “tactical L” 90-degree angle to prevent injury or cross-fire.

When he fired, he easily could have shot another officer.

I'm not following this closely, so don't know the specifics. However, I don't believe the feds can legally shield him. If a MN prosecutor wants to bring charges, the feds have to give the guy up. He can't be pardoned by the Felon since murder is a state crime. To me, the question would be if there was enough evidence to bring to trial. I doubt the guy would have the same support as a MN police officer in the same situation in MN. This administration would try to white-wash it, but I don't think the "brotherhood" of cops extends to ICE.

And, bluntly, he killed a white woman on video. That plays even less well with the public. It shouldn't matter, but realistically it does.

If you followed through the video you posted yesterday to a guy named Nick (a MAGA guy) you'll see this video and he never gets hit. Now you should have done that yesterday and you didn't. Actually, the first video from Michael shows that he didn't get hit, he moves out of the way and slides a little on the slippery snowy surface. So no, your claim that he gets hit isn't so, and I think you can see that.

I don't think the claim she weaponized the vehicle is valid. She was stationary and talking to an officer who approached her with gun holstered when the other agent plopped himself on the corner of the hood, probably surprised her, and escalated the situation by drawing his gun and pointing it at the woman. There was no reason to draw the gun and point it at her. He was in no danger even though he had placed himself in a bad position according to his own training. He had clearly moved out of the way of the car and was in no danger when he fired as she was turning right. I recognize a car is also a weapon, but he got out of the way, and slid a little on the snow while doing it. It's that sliding where you claim he was hit. He wasn't hit.

He looks like a rogue agent and should be taken off duty and not allowed back where to make bad decisions escalating situations further. He doesn't have the temperament. ICE has had a good record so far with no killings that I know of, but it looks like this agent shouldn't be allowed back to dealing with people again.

As someone else noted on this thread, the state and local authorities have been locked out of the investigation. If the FBI decides to whitewash the entire incident, no-one will have any information to say otherwise.

I'm almost certain they can't do that. They don't have jurisdiction. It wasn't a federal crime (murder). No federal crime, no jurisdiction for the feds. It may take a lawsuit, but if MN chooses to pursue, I think they would win. (Again, with the caveat that I'm not a lawyer, and not following this closely.)

And they are instructed (as are all law officers) to not stand in front of the vehicle. You are a sitting duck in that case. Also, if you fire and kill the driver while in front of the vehicle, the vehicle becomes a projectile with no known trajectory. Best to stand aside and aim for the tires.
