Covid was going to reduce earnings for many businesses temporarily. If the value of a business is the sum of its future earnings the loss of a year or so doesn’t make that much difference. The market was rational in coming back quickly.

It’s not rational now, I believe. But I’m probably an old stick in the mud and just don’t see the potential economic benefits of AI. All businesses that benefit from it will use it. Just like the internet.
