For the price of a few dozens of $50k drones and a relative few missiles Iran has crippled

Israel’s largest refinery,
Bahrain’s only refinery,
UAE’s largest refinery,
Qatar’s entire LNG production,
closed the world’s largest airport (in UAE) and
closed the Strait of Hormuz.

That’s multiple tens of billions in damage plus the billions we will spend on this military “excursion”. None of this will be repaired any time soon meaning exorbitant energy prices are the new norm.

Thanks Donnie for this well planned out victory. But please, let’s stop all this winning.

My Chevron is up 30% since last October.

My Exxon is up a whisker under 33% since January.

"Mission accomplished".

perhaps we should have a dedicated board - how about „Corruption Investing“?

Possible silver lining: with oil prices so high, perhaps Trump will now start promoting "green energy"? He can call it "Trump Power™" if he likes.

Not a chance in hell. Trump has been paid his 30 pieces of silver by the oil&gas industry and he's going to stick with them and their interests.

As Kevin Hassett said a couple of days ago.... consumers are the last of this administration's concerns right now.

When will consumers' interests be on Trump's front burner?

When they can provide him something that he doesn't already have or want.

(See steve rant about "fair and free elections")

((In other words- never))

LOL. Right now Trump is proposing spending 1 billion of our taxpayer dollars to buy out the company planning to build wind turbines on the east coast.

He is fanatically obsessed by 'windmills' as he calls them.

When? If he can manage to cheat on the mid-terms? Then never.

perhaps we should have a dedicated board - how about „Corruption Investing“?

The last iteration of Trenchrat's board was "it is what it is".

Observing what the Bush junta was doing, I started putting my entire IRA into big oil every January-February. I would then hold through the inevitable media gas price hysteria, in the spring, then sell around Memorial Day. Booked about 25% every year. That cushioned the blow of paying Bush junta manipulated prices at the pump over that period.

Corruption is a fact of daily life in this big, heavily armed, aggressive, banana republic. You can stand out in the woods and cry about it, or mitigate the damage by positioning yourself to grab some crumbs that slip through the "JC's" fingers.

goofyhoofy,
there seems to be some paralysis because trump can always make things much worse, or anticipate a whiplash taco rebound any second he backs off the crazy.
but other irrational play will continue, and i dont think the markets have re-normalized to how bad it is already.

from energyflux:
"The Trump administration has well and truly lost control of the situation in the Middle East.
Rapid escalatory attacks and destruction of critical energy infrastructure are unfolding on a scale that defies historical comparison.

This spiraling conflict is sowing the seeds of an energy crisis that will dwarf the events of 2021-22.

Israel’s initial unprovoked strike on Iran’s South Pars gas field yesterday triggered huge retaliatory attacks on Qatar.
QatarEnergy CEO Saad al-Kaabi told Reuters this morning that 2 of Qatar’s 14 LNG trains and 1 of 2 two gas-to-liquids (GTL) facilities were damaged in the unprecedented strikes.

The attacks knocked out 12.8 million tons per year of liquefaction capacity, or 17% of Qatar’s LNG supply, for 3-5 years ...this is energy warfare that goes beyond military escalation.
This is a structural supply shock with cascading consequences for oil, condensate, refined products, LNG and power that energy markets have barely begun to price."

Goofy, This reddit link is a well-written, comprehensive view from the perspective of an old guy from the oil industry. He looks at the global, national and domestic impacts short and long term.
Well worth the time to read it. Kind of like the old Oil and Gas board at TMF.

"I work in the oil and gas industry and have had a fascination with energy since I was a kid. I'm telling you as bad as the oil situation sounds, it's going to get significantly worse and while there are a few headlines about how the price of fuel is up, not enough people are warning of a global energy crisis that could come worse than anything ever seen. Honestly most people in my industry even are not taking this seriously enough because almost no one working today was working during the 70s when things were bad."

SNIP:...... "How and why is there so much damage?

If you know where to look there are smart people on this topic who do have a holistic picture of what is going on. But one thing I haven't seen a single person mention is Iran, in attacking their neighbors, is setting up for success when the conflict is over. Their neighbors in the Gulf and to their north in the Caucuses and Central Asia, are their economic competitors. By bombing their energy production Iran is making sure the market will be open for them when the war ends, whether that's in a week or a year. It's in their interest to blow up all the fields, processing plants, refineries, smelters, pipelines and liquefaction facilities while the bullets are flying and they can get away with it.

On top of all of that, the Gulf States in the region as well as other countries are rivals with Iran so even without the economic picture the Iranians want to strike their opponents down......"

An investment show that I used to listen to occasionally would often talk about putting together an index based on how much the corporations spent on lobbying and political contributions. They would invest in the top 10 or 20 companies. They called it the Greased Palm Index.

Iranian facilities are being blown up too.

All very good news for USian big oil.

Appears that Trump the Magnificent received his orders from "Bibi".

Trump: U.S. could end Iran military operations ‘right now’ but will continue so Iran can ‘never rebuild’

President Donald Trump on Friday said the U.S. could end Iran military operations “right now” and leave Tehran unable to rebuild its military capabilities for a decade.

But that’s not “an acceptable situation,” Trump told MS Now’s Stephanie Ruhle in a phone interview.

“If we left right now, it would take them at least 10 years to rebuild, but rebuild they will,” Trump said in the roughly 15-minute call.

“If we stay longer, they’ll never rebuild,” he said.

That is what "Bibi" wants, Iran crushed into failed state anarchy, with Mossad and CIA operatives in country, continually agitating, so the Iranian people can never pull together again, so Iran can never interfere with the "Greater Israel" project.

Several of the proxies I have received, in recent years, had shareholder proposals to require the company to disclose who they are bribing, how big the bribes are, and what performance by the government official they are paying for. Management always maintains that that information must always be kept secret, even from the company's supposed owners, we shareholders, whom management claims to speak for, within the meaning of the "Citizens United" decision.

Yup.

Trump: ‘I don’t want to do a ceasefire’ in Iran war

“We could have dialogue, but I don’t want to do a ceasefire,” Trump said from the White House before departing for Florida. “You know you don’t do a ceasefire when you’re literally obliterating the other side.”

https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/20/trump-iran-war-cea...

Yup. Bomb them into the stone age. Take Trillions away from Americans, to fund another war, for the benefit of Israel. Tell USians to shut up and pay the price, because God and Savior Trump says so.
