When challenged during "This Week" on ABC about why the administration removeed tariffs on semiconductors, he said we needed them in the US, but they planned to "re-shore" production to the US. That sounds like an endorsment of the idea behind the previous administration's "CHIPS" act?

endorsment of the idea behind the previous administration's "CHIPS" act?

The Biden administration was talking about semiconductors.
The current administration is talking about cow/horse/pig/etc chips.

Incidently, it was stated (right or wrong) on the Sunday "Face the Nation" CBS news interview show that the newly-exempted electronic items make up a third of the trade deficit.
