Very interesting comment, thank you for this. It's absolutely perfect timing, as I spent the last month exploring differences between countries/regions in REIT earnings & NAV reporting.
I would be interested in reading literally everything you are happy to share about Canadian REITs - history, management character, accounting, your 'gut feel' about particular REITs, any lurking problems.
In regard to those I mentioned.
I think my own feeling about Vital has resolved to: "I don't think the management make decisions in a way I personally would want to invest in".
Granite REIT, on the other hand, has my attention, but not at this price. I'd love to know more about it, anything you might not easily find asking AI or googling through company history and accounts. I see the price declined 12% in the last 6 weeks - still an awfully long way to go to reach 2005-style bargain pricing though.
