The Washington Post has a quick take on railroads (in six charts) in today's edition; I thought board members might find interesting. It is not BNSF specific, but still educational as to the history and spending of the industry. In light of all the news recently I found it worthwhile.

A nice companion graph would be the aggregate annual net profit of the four biggies : )
