The Google Jockey can link away and explain it away. And I'm hopeful that Club Google Link stays snug in their bubble....it makes the trends faster and more entrenched - just like someone used to say it would happen.

Take a break from the bad news, focus on something fun!

https://news.gallup.com/poll/508169/historically-l...

"Historically Low Faith in U.S. Institutions Continues"

Of course it varies depending on which tribe or sect or caste those polled are belonging to. But - yeah, these ARE American characteristics, just not official.

Yet.

In the meantime.....

Drip, Drip, Drip.

Giggle.

When appointees to agencies have as part of their agenda the destruction of those agencies, it's difficult to have faith in them. How can they function of their leaders are trying to fit them?

And then there are the conspiracy theories about collision with public officials (e.g. "election fraud", "FBI cover-up", etc).

Though I have to admit I've lost confidence in elected officials. Civil servants are just trying to do their jobs the best they can, just like the rest of us. Elected officials have too many agendas other than doing their jobs.

Bummer. Messed up a couple of things...

I get pretty frustrated with the IRS situation. The tax code has been rigged in favor of the wealthy, so why are so many middle class Americans against hiring more IRS agents ?? Basically
all W2 employees couldn't cheat on their taxes if they tried, every paycheck is documented.
Stock Brokerages send details of every transaction I make to the IRS, I couldn't cheat on that if I tried. But the very wealthiest ( or their lobbyists ) have basically written the tax code, and they still cheat.

But a sizeable number of Americans are against providing enough funding for the IRS so that they have some teeth, so they could actually audit the big tax cheats out there.

We are a brainwashed group of people, lol, but hey, them damn low income people better not get away with cheating on the EITC, we won't stand for that.

I agree. Hire more IRS. I know too many people that are self employed and pay no to little taxes.

****

White 401K Liberals should be cragged out into the street and all their accounts be tithed.

This while the Democrats want to go after....wait for it......$600 income thresholds for odd jobs.

But yes it has been rigged for rich white people - just look how they want their SALT deductions back and how their Woke Corporation run by Ivy Leaguers don't pay.

Blue state conservative here.
I CHEERED when the SALT restrictions passed. I knew I might pay more - Mrs. Dope and I don't have kids and thus have limited deductions - but it was worth it.

One of the things left wingers tell themselves is how awesome each blue state is and how they all subsidize the stooopid red states. Why, the blue staters pay all the bills!, they say.

But when one looks at WHY blue states make money, one realizes the words of wisdom from one Barack Obama: You didn't build that.

liberalism didn't put the oceans where they are.
liberalism didn't put protected inlets suitable for ports along the coastlines.
liberalism didn't put gold and other natural resources in the ground.
liberalism didn't put in deep water ports to handle trade.
liberalism didn't build railheads to connect the ports to the interior of the country.
liberalism didn't build financial centers to set pricing and trade all the goods coming into and going out of the ports.

liberalism...built none of that. But talk to any blue stater and they'll tell you they DID build all that, all the while sucking from the teat of the capitalism they claim needs to be reformed.

So it's only fitting that that tax deductions they pass on to the red states that they all sneer at and wish would vanish (along with most of the nation's food and energy supplies, lol)...vanish.
