hclasvegas, why do you keep framing these political problems as reasons why Biden "won't be on the ballot?"
Biden's already on all the primary ballots (save NH) - no matter how flawed a candidate he may be, there's no way he'll be removed from the primary ballots.
Biden's running basically unopposed in the primaries - so no matter how flawed a candidate he may be, he will win the nomination. Because no one's running against him.
Again, without an opponent, there's no way the nominee is anyone but Biden. There's no mechanism for him not to get the nomination.
So why do you keep saying he won't be on the ballot, rather than saying that he won't win the election? What is the mechanism by which you think these - or any - political liabilities will keep him from securing the nomination?"
It should be noted that albaby is a very sharp guy, a gentleman, and a scholar, sort of like my old pal Jim. Just to confirm I'm consistently ignorant and uninformed and always wrong.

hclasvegas: Do I really need to list the reasons why trump is not the right guy to unite the country and lead us going forward? Come on man.
If your only posts disparage Biden, then, in effect, you're supporting Trump.
Despite what you personally believe, Biden and Trump will be the nominees of their respective parties."
common is a nice fella too but not as sharp as albaby. I wanted Biden to retire in early 2024 so that the Dem party had the time to respect the nomination process and offer an alert, healthy, alternative to trump. THAT made me a loyal maga trumper, seriously, that's how smart people think. To my knowledge no one ever conceded I was very early and right, sort of like Buffett finally authorizing buybacks at material buybacks to IV! I was wrong about that too.
ucmtsu,no way.

Shouldn't this be on the political asylum board?

When I have posts on iggy on this board that means the usual suspects aka experts have joined us here. Have you suggested they back too where their brilliance is appreciated?
History says 2-3 guys with 15 Ids who love themselves, and rec their own poets all day long, lol.

"Nowhere" is also an option. : )
Main idea is "not here".
I think there are certainly some insightful or informative things to be said from time to time that may be relevant both to investing and politics, because they both tie to economics. But not that often.

There are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of message boards and substack boards on the internet which discuss and debate investing and politics.
TMF and now shrewdm is dedicated to the primary, if not sole, purpose of discussion of investing. Let's keep it that way instead of (poorly) dredging in discussions of non-investing.
Manlobbi created this site for a specific purpose. Not to serve as a poor imitation of those other thousands of sites. He even created a couple of boards for people to vent on about non-investment topics. Keep it there instead of polluting the BRK and like boards.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Interesting.
Marco: The IRS mandates that any loan between family members be made with a signed written agreement, a fixed repayment schedule, and a minimum interest rate.
Me: I can tell you this, if it looks like a loan, there's good reason to believe it's a loan and no reason to think it may not be a loan, and your boss and his boss agree with you, then you treat it like a loan.
