CBS News pulls ’60 Minutes’ segment; correspondent blasts ‘political’ decision
NPR, meanwhile, reported that Weiss said the segment could not air without first getting an on-the-record statement from the Trump administration.
She (segment correspondent Sharyan Alfonsi) also noted in her email that her team reached out to relevant government agencies and the White House with questions and did not get a response.
“Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed to kill the story,” Alfonsi wrote. “If the administration’s refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we have effectively handed them a ‘kill switch’ for any reporting they find inconvenient.” https://thehill.com/homenews/media/5659558-cbs-new...The CBS evening "news" reported this. Weiss' hand picked anchor apparently does not take over until after the first of the year. The two men who had reported the CBS news for the last few years, signed off for the last time last Thursday.

Yes, I read that statement. Weiss claims now that the Admin did give some statements that weren't included in the segment, but no one is forthcoming on what the Admin claims to have said. So until we know what the Admin supposedly said, we should treat it as they didn't say anything for the segment, and that's just cover.

The regime probably did say something to Weiss: "bury it".

The CBS investigation portrays a modern concentration camp, similar to the Soviet GULAG (like CECOT, an acronym):
sadistic guards, 24 hour lighting, isolation cells.
Trump sent innocent people there to suffer...
Americans once opposed this type of inhumane treatment.

I downloaded it before it disappeared. And it's now all over the place. The proverbial cat is out of the bag.

The puritanical, punishment culture is deeply ingrained in the US. Call making people suffer a "traditional American value", regardless what the Bill of Rights says about "cruel and unusual".

I had to watch a bootlegged copy of a this video from another country because my country censored it.
Why am I starting to feel like I'm living in North Korea?
