In one example, illegal migrants are streaming across the southern border in record numbers. So what's Biden do? He sells off the border wall.
Yes, the Biden administration is selling materials that were to be used to construct the border wall. Just this week, 30-foot structural tubes were sold to the highest bidder, according to Fox News.
The price? Anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000.
According to the New York Post, the number of families illegally crossing the southern border hit an all-time high last month, and border agents encountered more illegal migrants in August ' around 230,000 ' than any other month this year.'

And back then AOC wasn't complaining about having migrants in her district, she was complaining that the site selected doesn't have access to public transit and is prone to flooding. She simply said there's a better solution than tent camps in parking lots.

Biden does have some sense. That's why he's selling it for scrap. The Great Wall didn't work, and neither did the Berlin Wall. Both forced people to go around (or, in a few dramatic cases in Berlin, fly over). But the expenditure was great, and the results really weren't. Plus, both were garrisoned by troops. Which wouldn't be allowed in the US because of posse comitatus.
Meanwhile, the US and Canada has the longest unguarded border on the planet. And some folks who make their way to Canada just stroll across the border. But mostly it isn't really a problem because there's not a great attraction for Canadians to go south. There is a great attraction for Latin Americans to head north. Building a wall will be an expensive boondoggle that will not work.
Punish employers who hire undocumented workers. THAT will stem the flow, because the attraction of work will be all but eliminated. No work, no attraction, and they won't bother to make the trek.
I'm more than happy to discuss immigration policy and reform. The Wall was a simplistic solution that a simpleton dreamed-up (i.e. Trump), and Mexico was never going to pay for it. It was never a considered policy decision, just a "put up a wall to keep them out". No consideration of efficacy was made, or they wouldn't have even ordered samples of wall to begin with.

'And the Biden administration's refusal to open up work authorizations or extend [Temporary Protected Status (TPS)] really prevents us from doing what we do best, which is allowing and creating an environment where immigrants from all over the world can create a livelihood here.'
My proposal is different. The wall is impractical in a lot of areas and sucks. We use embassy powers to build a small city across the border in Mexico, set up courts, etc., and process everyone there. Since only 5% are eligible, they make it across the border. Anyone found on this side of the border goes there and is fingerprinted, DNA taken, and is checked for Health and vaccinations. Criminals are handled differently.
We can build another one at the Guatemalan border with Mexico. I think Lurker Mom's and AOC's ideas are progressive, and we do need more underpaid immigrant workers to help those businesses, and it will help Republicans running against immigrants, so let's shift any Federal Money away from Texas and Florida and put it into New York and experiment with the work authorization and TPS.

NYC Manhattan is my home town, born and raised there. It is a sad, sad situation the ruining of NYC because of one senile old man. AOC started out as a, 'look at me, I'm great and I am going to replace Nancy Pelosi'. Apparently she has had her wings clipped and probably some sit in the corner time by fellow congress members. And, no doubt her constituents put her back up to the wall to do something about the illegal alien mess in NYC.
So good for AOC if she is really getting her head out of the clouds and stardust from her eyes, speaking up to that old man in the converted nursing home, once known as the White House.

And I want many of them to be right outside of Yoga studios at night and Whole Foods parking lots all day.
