Too bad he is supposed to be representing the citizens of Texas, not the citizens of Israel.
It’s his understanding of the bible, which makes it ok, apparently.
Cruz: “When I came into the Senate I resolved that I was going to be the leading defender of Israel and what you didn’t ask is why, so let me tell you why. […] The reason is twofold: Number one, as a Christian growing up in Sunday school I was taught from the Bible those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed, and from my perspective I want to be on the blessing side of things.”

Citizens of Israel are more important than Citizens of Texas---and not just for Republican leaders.
We all need to just accept our place.
BTW, Citizens of California or Colorado are also not as important as Citizens of Israel.
One thing is good - it's a barometer. The day Israel stops using us we'll know where a has-been. The fact that they still want us as the best treated slave on their plantation--means we're still ok to an extent.
Silver linings you know?
