I'd give 10 bucks to be able to hear and read all his personal correspondence these days :)

Yep. But who he used to work for is hand in hand with the Wall Street-Goldman Sachs-etc axis.

And right now they are being shit on.

As someone who has always believed that whether it's Bush or Clinton or Trump--- *certain* entities get to control the big picture - one way or another.

So I'm wondering - are said entities going to allow this to continue IN EXCHANGE for something juicy - like an Iran war or bigger war?

OR are said entities going to deal with what they feel is a big problem.

Bessent was Wall Street's boy in this administration.

Hence I'd love to know his thinking and private commentary at this point.

I'll repeat: If there's no major war thing, and no major change in course---- keep being nice to VP Vance....be real nice to him.

If you don't want war with China, then forcibly decoupling from them right now is what everyone should be rooting for.

Why?

Because a China that has the West by the short hairs with respect to trade in cheap goods, has its world's-largest Navy sitting on trade choke points and is in control of vital minerals...has no checks on it in terms of what it can and will do.

Oh, be a real shame if we cut off your pharmaceuticals, wouldn't it? You don't have a problem with us just taking all these islands in the South China Sea, right?

That's the future we were heading towards. Would I have done everything the way Trump has? No. But that doesn't mean that a strategic economic decoupling from then isn't vitally necessary. Our Emotional Thespians on this board can't seem to process that.
